All White House photographer images from November 8-9, 2016 (25-65956-F)

FOIA 25-65956-F requested all photographs taken on November 8 and 9, 2016, by any White House photographer.  

This FOIA primarily contains photographs from those two days.  Photos from November 8 include photographs of President Obama receiving the Presidential Daily Briefing, meeting with David Axelrod, talking with the Fall White House interns, meeting with senior staff, and participating in an interview with Bill Plante of CBS News.  Photos from November 9 include President Obama speaking with staff about the presidential election, receiving the Presidential Daily Briefing, talking separately on the phone with Senator Mitch McConnell and Merrick Garland, delivering a statement regarding the election in the Rose Garden, meeting with artist Shepard Fairey and family, and delivering remarks at a mix and mingle with current and former Cabinet Members in the Grand Foyer.

It should be noted that many of the documents in this FOIA have been closed due to National Security classification and/or exemptions of the Freedom of Information Act.

The Executive Office of the President (EOP) instance of the Electronic Records Archive (ERA) contains electronic records created or received by Obama administration staff. These records are stored in Search and Access Sets (SAS) that represent their originating computer program, such as Exchange Email or the Worker and Visitor Entry System (WAVES). In addition to records captured from the White House’s electronic systems, EOP-ERA also contains records from the home and shared drives used by White House staff.

Obama Presidential Electronic Records are a unique segment preserved in an electronic system separate from the Electronic Records Archive (ERA). The records are processed by topic, printed, and filed in folders. Folders are arranged by data set and thereunder by date.

Obama Presidential Electronic Records contain electronic records created or received by members of the White House staff, as well as the Commission on Weapons of Mass Destruction. These frequently classified records document the daily constitutional and statutory duties carried out by the Obama administration and include record types such as email, email attachments, Night Notes, and cables.
