Each year, the Obama Administration hosted an Easter Egg Roll on the South Lawn of the White House. The President and First Lady welcomed, greeted, and cheered on the participants, read to children, and participated in the events.

Each year, the Obama Administration hosted a Hanukkah reception at the White House.  The reception included remarks from President Obama, the reciting of the blessing, and the lighting of the Menorah.

The President and First Lady traveled to Oslo, Norway, on December 10, 2009 for the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony.  President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
