As the BARACK H. OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY DIRECTOR, you will:

  • Plan and direct the programs and activities of the library, which contains the papers and collections of the President, including Presidential records for the period of his tenure; the papers of persons such as cabinet officers, heads of Federal agencies, members of Congress, political leaders, as well as national political organizations; selected records of federal agencies; a library of books, pamphlets, periodicals, and other printed materials; audiovisual materials including motion and still pictures, slides, sound recordings, and other such materials; and collections of artifacts and memorabilia all related to the President.
  • Direct the full range of archival, educational, loan, programmatic, and information-related services to provide for the accessibility, preservation, digitization and interpretation of the library's historical materials.
  • Maintain and develop cooperative working relationships with academic, cultural and non-profit organizations to develop joint programs related to the holdings of the library.
  • Maintain close working relationship with the former President's family and serve as primary NARA interface with the Foundation and Obama Presidential Center.
